Kalagramam has been a collective of local people and a centre for ethnic, socio cultural interface so as to strengthen the self esteem of the local community. It is a subsidiary of Grameena Patana Kendram from its incorporation during 1997, established .Kalagramam, which is an extension of Grameena Patana Kendram, provides an institutional frame work for the training of Arts and Cultural forms of Kerala, performance of different art forms, demonstration and dissemination of folk arts and forgotten cultural forms of Kerala. Kalagramam was established in 1997 itself as part of the People’s Plan Programme. It has been able to consistently function and to achieve wide acceptance among both the public and art lovers alike.
